Ross

Often regarded as one of the most desirable and luxurious places to live in Marin, Ross is elegant, lush, quaint, and more formal than most of the county. Ross Common, a grassy park area off the main street, the hub of this chic Marin suburb, home to only 2,415 residents. The town is bordered by Kentfield and Greenbrae to the east, Larkspur to the south, and San Anselmo to the north, providing easy access and 5-minute drives to neighboring towns. Local residents and their families can be found picnicking on Ross Common and hiking around nearby Phoenix Lake. Hiking and biking trails are abundant here, as is nearby Mount Tamalpais! Stroll down main street for dinner at Trattoria Fresco for Italian home cooking, French provincial dining at Marche aux Fleurs, or stop by Café Ross after dropping the kids off at school for a hot coffee and a fresh home-baked scone. Ross is also home to the desired Ross School, a K-8 which was recently remodeled and could be mistaken for a college campus. The Lagunitas Country Club is only steps away from Phoenix Lake, where members enjoy tennis and swimming.
